Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, General Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline at a Community College, 2-Year Technical College, or Associate Degree program

May apply in the first semester of their second year for the following academic year

Must be a current ASME student member in good standing (membership required to access the online application)

Students transferring from a 2-year institution must be planning to enroll in a Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology program or closely related discipline at a 4-year university/college

US applicants may be enrolled part-time

Must be enrolled in a regionally accredited institution (CHEA) or ABET-accredited program

International students: the ASME Student Section must be active in the local region

International students must be enrolled full-time and in an ABET or regionally/nationally accredited program

Must have a transcript and a cumulative college-level GPA from at least one semester of post-secondary education to qualify

For a major to qualify as closely related to Mechanical Engineering, applicants must be taking at least 25% of their credits each semester in courses from Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Engineering departments
