Competitive Awards are for degree-seeking students enrolled full-time at an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school. Awards range from $8,500 for undergraduates, to $10,500 for graduates, to $12,500 for doctorate students. Funds are awarded once per year; half is distributed for the fall semester and half for the spring semester. The Competitive Award has additional application requirements, and recipients are selected through a review and scoring process by an independent committee.

Be accepted to an accredited college, university, technical or vocational school
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 for undergraduates, 3.0 for graduates or masters, and 3.25 for specialists or doctorates
Be enrolled in 12 or more credits (undergraduates), or 9 or more credits (graduates) to be considered full-time students
Applicants cannot be recipients of multiple scholarships simultaneously
