These non-competitive scholarships were established by the District 509 Board of Trustees to recognize superior individual achievement in academics among graduating high school seniors who live in District 509. The maximum time period for a student to receive a trustee scholarship is two consecutive years, fall and spring semesters only.

Reside in Community College District 509 for at least 30 days immediately before the start of the first semester to which the scholarship applies
Enroll at ECC as a freshman in the fall or spring semester immediately following your high school graduation
Rank in the upper 10 or 20 percent of your graduating class (using weighted ranking, if used by your high school)
Attend one of the specified high schools or an accredited private high school in District 509
Home-schooled students must submit ACT scores for evaluation
Attend ECC’s online new student orientation session
Provide official seventh-semester high school transcripts to the Admissions Office
Submit a final/official high school transcript to the ECC Admissions Office
Enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours and be accepted into an associate degree program at ECC
Be in good financial standing with all ECC departments
Submit a one-page essay detailing educational plans, career goals, and past involvement in high school and community activities
Complete an academic scholar's orientation as indicated in the award letter
