The Dr. Fanny N. Freund Advanced Education Scholarship was established to provide support to students pursuing advanced specialty training in dentistry at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and who are pursuing a career in academics. Dr. Fanny N. Freund immigrated to America from Poland in 1950 and was a Holocaust survivor. She would go on to earn DDS and MSD degrees from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and practiced as an orthodontist in Minnesota for almost 50 years.
