Child of a service member who died while on active duty (other situations reviewed case-by-case)
Child of a service member who is disabled due to military service (case-by-case review possible)
Under 23 years of age and in possession of a Uniformed Services Identification (USID) card on the first scheduled day of classes of the fall semester the award will be applied
Merit-based program (financial need is not considered)
Scholarship funds must be used for undergraduate tuition and qualified course fees only
Dependent, unmarried child under the age of 23
Child of active-duty personnel, Reserve/Guard, retired service members, disabled service members, or survivor of a service member who died while on active duty
Parent died while serving on active duty on or after September 11, 2001
Parent became disabled while serving on active duty on or after September 11, 2001 and qualified for Traumatic Servicemembers' Group Life Insurance (TSGLI)
Parent received a permanent and total (100%) compensation rating from the Department of Defense or Department of Veterans Affairs for service on or after September 11, 2001
Possess a valid (not expired) U.S. Uniformed Services Identification and Privilege Card or a DOD dependent ID
Enroll or plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate program leading to a bachelor's degree or a community/junior college designed to allow for a direct transfer into a four-year program
High school applicants: minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
College applicants: minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale)
