The Richard J. Tyner Scholarship provides competitive, merit-based scholarships for undergraduate students in the UI College of Liberal Arts and Sciences majoring in a world language, political science, international relations, or international studies who are participating in a study abroad program or an international internship program through International Programs. The scholarship is awarded in the fall and spring semesters, and during the summer for internship programs that are at least eight weeks in length.

Be an undergraduate, full-time, degree-seeking UI student enrolled in CLAS at the time of the program abroad, in good academic standing
Have a minimum 3.5 UI cumulative GPA as reported on your unofficial UI grade report
Have completed at least 12 semester hours by the application deadline
Have declared a major in a world language, political science, international relations, or international studies, and be participating in a study abroad program or an international internship program through International Programs
