Eligibility requirements

15 listed

Current degree-seeking undergraduate JMU student with an internship already secured

All majors eligible

Minimum 2.0 overall GPA (no rounding)

Experience must be unpaid (may receive stipend/meals/transit passes)

Experience must be at least 8 weeks long (minimum 240 hours)

Experience must be completed during the summer semester (May-August) for the listed cycle

Offer/placement must be secured prior to applying (employer verification required)

Must have defined duties and a specific supervisor

Virtual internships are eligible

Must be enrolled in at least one credit hour of internship credit

Programs that require payment/fees to obtain the internship (including service vacations) are not eligible

Students taking courses at JMU for one semester but seeking degrees from other universities are not eligible

Previous winners of this Unpaid Internship Scholarship are not eligible

Students interning at organizations that do not follow JMU's non-discrimination policy are not eligible

International internships must be coordinated through a JMU study abroad program or receive academic credit through a JMU internship course
