The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) offers eligible undergraduate students from participating western states a reduced non-resident tuition rate at the University of Nevada, Reno (tuition charged at 150% of Nevada resident base tuition). The benefit is a non-disbursable tuition reduction and may be continued for up to four consecutive years while earning the first bachelor’s degree.

Must be a resident of one of the participating western states/regions (Alaska; American Samoa; Arizona; California; Colorado; Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands; Guam; Hawaii; Idaho; Montana; New Mexico; North Dakota; Oregon; Republic of Palau; South Dakota; Utah; Washington; Wyoming)
New freshmen must have graduated from high school within the most recent academic year (e.g., May 2025 or later)
New freshmen must meet one of: 3.25 unweighted GPA OR 24 Composite ACT OR 1160 SAT
Transfer students must meet both: 3.0 cumulative transfer GPA AND 24 transferable semester graded credits
Must be earning their first bachelor's degree (not a second bachelor's)
