About this scholarship

College grants for employees and their dependents at GSGA Member Clubs. Awards are based on financial need, character, academic achievement and work experience at a GSGA Member Club. For the 2025-26 school year the program will support 69 scholars with grants totaling $344,999. Applications require essays, recommendation letters and academic records. Renewals run May 15 - June 15; new applicant deadline for the 2026-27 school year was March 1.

Work experience at a GSGA Member Club

Completed Yates Scholarship application, including two essays

Two letters of recommendation from supervisors at the GSGA Member Club(s) where applicant and/or parent is employed

Incoming freshmen: high school transcript of grades through first semester senior year

Incoming freshmen: SAT or ACT scores

Incoming freshmen: one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or other school administrator (returned signed and including a school phone number and email)

Current college freshmen: college transcript showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5

College sophomores and juniors: college transcript showing a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

Transcripts must not be password-protected

All information must be received on or before the deadline

Photographs are not allowed with the application

Applications must be submitted as one complete package
